PLEASE

Spring has sprung and the 2021 DiscGames disc golf season is upon us. This year will present some of the same safety challenges as last year due to covid-19, but should not affect any of our scheduled events
Although disc golf is social distance compliant, many festival events that we had scheduled to participate in last year were canceled by the event organizers for safety reasons.  We were able to go forward with all of our disc golf events in the fall but did not have our annual fundraiser.
This year as in the past we will host the annual DiscGames Amputee disc golf tournament in October at our disc golf course at  Scottish Rite Hospital in Frisco as well as Wounded Warrior V at War Memorial disc golf course in Oak Grove, Kentucky, Labor Day weekend. We will also continue our "Discs for Kids" program at TSRH, providing discs and instruction for recreational therapy free.
If you are interested in participating as a player, volunteer, or sponsor, or for more information, please contact us.

Shirts and Discs are available for sponsors as thank you gifts for donations.

Due to continue concerns over covid-19 the Scottish Rite North campus has been closed until further notice and is unlikely to reopen before the end of the year to enable us to have our annual DiscGames and Amputee Disc Golf Classic there. As a result we are combining both events into one... And moving the whole show to BB Owen Park in Dallas on Sunday. November 1.
$20 entry fee for Ams, $10 for Juniors, $30 for Pros and first 100 to play or register get a disc.
Persons with disabilities play for free and receive a disc. Lots of CTP's and Ace Pot...
BB Owen was the site of our event the first 15 years so it can accommodate people with disabilities as in the past, and flex t- times should allow for proper social distancing. Amputee round will be at 2:00 but everything else is Flex 10am to 6pm....come with a group play with that group and be done by 6:00...for the The "Great Pumpkin Smash" which will follow immediately afterwards... Hit a pumpkin...roll it over to reveal the prize underneath... Win Dinners, gift certificates, Discs and other swag. It is the first day of no daylight savings time so it should be a blast hitting the Jack-o-Lanterns in the dark.
Contact: Randy Mecca by text at DiscGames 214-533-1983 or go  to register page and reserve a disc. Proceeds will go to course improvements, benches and trash cans at Scottish Rite disc golf course in Frisco.
Can't make it but would like a disc....$25 donation would include shipping to you anywhere in the US.

VISIT WWII
VISITWWIII

Christmas is just around the corner and this year we are taking golf discs to the kids at Scottish Rite Hospital that are too sick to go home at Christmas. This will be the third year for our visit and our Frosty Little Friends will be printed on the discs that the kids receive. This year's design was penned by Frisco artist Marisela Rodriguez. It is $30 per child to sponsor and they receive a set of golf discs delivered by Jolly Old Saint Nick(Me) and wife Mrs.Claus (The fabulous and beautiful Kelly Meeker Mecca) if you are interested in sponsoring a child just use any donate button and indicate the number of kids who you want to sponsor at $30 each as well as number of discs you might want for yourself or kids. If you would like a disc for yourself or your kids add $20 to cover the cost plus shipping cost to you. If would like more than one disc for yourself or others they are $10 each after the first disc ordered,  and WE WILL EAT the shipping... along with the cookies.
We also do home visits for kids, so if you don't want to go to the mall, and expose yourself and kids to possible holiday contaminants let us know ..Just have a chair ready...our schedule fills very quickly. So if you're interested, write VISIT (D/FW only) in the note field, and Kris or Mrs Kringle will be in touch.
Happy holidays from Randy and Kelly Mecca and the folks at  DiscGames.Org

Please help Amputee Santa bring the joy of Christmas

Wounded Warrior V Disc Golf tournament will take place Sunday, September 5th at War Memorial disc golf course in Oak Grove Kentucky. This is the 5th year for DiscGames.org to host this annual event benefiting Wounded Warriors. We are looking for area CTP prize sponsors as well as corporate sponsors for our event. If you are interested in being a player, sponsor, or participating in any way contact Randy Mecca 214-533-1983 .
Flex Tee times starting at 10am will kick off the day and a night glow round from 7 to 10:00 will cap off the evening. Even if you are playing elsewhere in the area on Saturday or Sunday you can still come and get in a night round on Sunday, receive a disc and support a great cause. Great prizes and packages for all participants... And a distance competition..
Wounded Warriors and people with disabilities play free and receive tournament disc and event t-shirt. Entry fee is $25 for all divisions except Juniors ... $10 and everyone gets a disc.

VISIT 2019

As you know, I have been a disc golf enthusiast ever since it helped me recover from my amputation in1984. What attracted me to the game was that you could walk at your own speed, there's no running or catching, just choosing the best disc for each shot, and trying to get it in the basket. Sounded very simple....and it was. It put me well on the road with a lifetime sport that I play to this day at 64.

Along life's journey you meet people who significantly impact your life, and David Norcott was one of them. He was the first double amputee that I ever got to play disc golf with. I knew from working with kids at Scottish Rite what to do and convinced him to let go of his canes and Walker and just trust me to catch him if he fell after throwing... which he did not. He became my most faithful follower, and disc golf enthusiast, and helped me start DiscGames along with our other brother Chris Burton... who usually manned the disc golf booth at all events.
I remember David saying to me "Thank you for giving me life beyond the sidewalk" as I watched him flourish in his other athletic endeavors.
I felt the pride of a parent, the joy of compassionship and the love of a brother...that was Dave, and I will miss him dearly.
I invite you all to come out on November 6th to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital Sports Medicine facility in Frisco to honor Dave's memory and support the sport that he loved. There will be activities throughout the day that you are welcome to participate in that are all free to play and our Tenth Annual Amputee Classic will be at 4:00 where we will all play disc golf with a chance to win great prizes.
Everyone gets a tournament disc and instruction. All for free...We will also have these beautiful commemorative discs featuring Dave's image for $20.
No food is currently planned because the status of the playground and picnic area is still up in the air because of covid resurgence.
We will maintain protocol in compliance with Scottish Rite requirements which includes no exchanging of discs and distance restrictions when not wearing mask. All will be simple to do as disc golf is designed to be social distance compliant.
Friends and Family are welcome, and we are asking for a $20 donation per person to cover the cost of their discs. Kids $10
Please let me know if you would like to attend and play or would like a disc as attendance is limited to 50 and they are only 25 of the commemorative discs being printed so they will go fast.
I hope to see you November 6th to try this great sport and honor Dave's memory.
