Mission Statement
PLEASE
DiscGames.org was founded by amputee disc golfer Randy Mecca to help promote disc golf for its recreational and therapeutic benefits. "Disc golf was instrumental in helping me get back onto my feet after my amputation in 1984, and I wanted to pass it on" said Mecca. In 1997 he installed a 3-hole disc golf course at Texas Scottish Rites youth Fitness Park in Dallas and has helped teach literally thousands to play this lifetime sport since then. It is our goal to teach anyone who has a desire to play regardless of physical, mental, or financial challenges. Each year we participate in several sporting events for the disabled in the Southwest and host the DiscGames Fall Flying Disc Festival featuring distance and accuracy contests, wheelchair doubles, disc golf horseshoes and this year's 7th annual amputee Disc Golf Classic in November
DiscGames.Org is honored to hold our second event at War Memorial Park ,WWII. I was motivated when my son-in-law who was wounded and suffers from PTSD got great benefits from playing disc golf and decided to make it an annual event for Wounded soldiers or military and people with disabilities. All players get a free disc & t-shirt and lessons to play in what we hope will become a regular outing for them. In addition we will make donation to the Wounded Warrior Project and you can help by making donations and getting some great swag in return for your generosity. Thanks again for your support now let's go throw ... Randy Mecca
